I have been working in logistics for over 10 years, specialising in sea freight imports. Since joining Peters & May, I have gained more valuable experience in that area but also expanded my skill set to include air and road transport. In my current role I am managing our sea freight and air import operations teams. I have gained a huge amount of experience in customs in the last few years and have helped our team make a smooth transition to CDS, the new customs system.
My favourite part about working for Peters and May is that it allows me to use my problem solving skills on a daily basis; I like finding innovative solutions for our customers!
I started my career in transport over 25 years ago and have built up a vast knowledge of all different aspects of logistics including Container Imports/Exports, Ro/Ro, LCL and General Freight Forwarding and used to teach Shipping to all new starters when working for P&O Nedlloyd. I joined Peters and May in 2019, initially working on the yacht transport side before moving to general forwarding in 2020, where I am now working in sea freight exports, specialising in the transport of vehicles.
My favourite part of working for Peters and May is helping clients navigate their way through the complexities of Shipping with the personal service and assistance that is synonymous with the Peters and May ethos.
I got into transport about 12 years ago, initially working for a courier company. I then moved to a new company and spent 8 years doing road freight, overseeing the exports into the channel islands, dealing with regular customers, organising manifests for customs, I also did their hazardous goods. I joined Peters and May in 2022 for a new challenge and am now working in the sea freight exports department.
My favourite part about working for Peters and May is the variety: every job is completely different. I also really enjoy the relationships we have with the customers.
I started my career as a freight forwarder and then customer services manager over 22 years ago for a company based in Cape Town South Africa. I immigrated to the UK and joined Peters and May to further my career. I have experience in all modes of transport for both imports and exports, but I am extremely passionate about out of gauge and break-bulk cargo and finding ways and solutions to get cargo moved from consignor to the consignee. I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge with Peters and May, to develop strong relationships with our clients as I am very customer service orientated and to help grow the business.
Before joining Peters and May, I had admin and accounting roles, but was looking for a new challenge. I joined Peters and May in 2022, working in the customs team handling import and export clearances by road and sea. I have recently started to handle sea freight import shipments, arranging all of the logistics as well as the customs clearance. It’s great to get a broader idea of everything that’s involved and I’m really enjoying it.
