Johanna Jacks

Operations Manager – Imports & Sea Freight

I have been working in logistics for over 10 years, specialising in sea freight imports. Since joining Peters & May, I have gained more valuable experience in that area but also expanded my skill set to include air and road transport. In my current role I am managing our sea freight and air import operations teams. I have gained a huge amount of experience in customs in the last few years and have helped our team make a smooth transition to CDS, the new customs system.

My favourite part about working for Peters and May is that it allows me to use my problem solving skills on a daily basis; I like finding innovative solutions for our customers!

Xhoana Gjoci

Customs Administrator

I have got an official degree in Spanish law. I have worked as a translator/interpreter for Bostico International covering the Albanian, Spanish, and English languages. I have studied a diploma on Level 4 Customs Practitioner Award which has covered the customs law and regulations, processes and procedures, tariff classifications, customs declarations etc. After the course I worked for 6 months for GA Telesis as a customs administrator and then I started at Peters and May as customs administrator.

Chloe Thomas

Customs Administrator

My introduction to freight forwarding came in 2019 when I took a job working in the Channel Island Imports and Exports office of a large global forwarder, learning the ropes and terminology of road freight operations alongside studying Modern Languages at university.

My next role was with another large company handling deep sea imports. There, I really got to grips with customs entries and enjoyed managing a caseload of clients with whom I built great working relationships.

I joined the Customs team at Peters and May in 2023 where I have expanded my knowledge of a wide range of customs procedures. The role suits my passion for providing excellent service and high standards of accuracy.

Nikki Burgess

Administrator

I joined Peters and May in 2022 and work part time in an administrative role, for the most part working with Adam.

Ben Tostevin

Customs Administrator

I began at Peters & May in February 2024, joining the customs team as a Customs Administrator. It has been a good introduction to the industry for me as there is a lot of variety in the workload, I’ve been exposed to a lot of different areas of the industry and there are many different career paths available to me in the future.

I was attracted to a career in freight & shipping because I find it fascinating how it relates to every other industry around the world. I also enjoy the problem-solving aspect and being a part of a cohesive team.

Before starting at Peters & May, I completed the ‘Freight Development Pathway’. This was a 2-week introductory course, including training with BIFA, which helped me build on skills relevant to the industry and introduced me to some terminology and processes.
