My area of specialty is airfreight exports which I have been arranging for nearly 40 years, but I am also experienced in road freight movements and all documentation requirements. I started my career with a large forwarder at Heathrow but moved to Southampton about 20 years ago and have worked with Peters and May for just under 10years now. During my career I have shipped all sorts of general cargo, hanging garments and urgent time sensitive yacht spares and laboratory equipment.
My Favourite part about working for Peters and May is the people – customers, suppliers and colleagues!
I first started at Peters and May in 1997 and have been with the Company for 26 Years. Prior to this, I worked with other local freight forwarding companies. During my years with Peters and May I have done sea freight and road freight, before moving into the air freight department which is my main role now. I am also the Documentation guru and assist with Letters of Credits, Carnets and legalisation of documents.
My Favourite part about working for Peters and May is finding solutions to problems and offering advice to the clients – putting my years of experience to good use!
My career in freight began when I moved to Southampton over 27 years ago and worked in Documentation for a shipping line at Southampton docks. I then moved to a new company where I worked in road freight and Sea freight for 10 years or so. I also have experience moving luxury cars and working at car auctions, arranging to ship cars all over the world by road, Sea and Air (including the Pope’s white Harley Davidson!) I saw an opportunity at Peters and May to do customs which I had wanted to do as I had completed my course on the customs academy. After a year or so in the customs team, an opportunity arose within the road freight team so now I am heading up the road freight team for both imports and exports.
