Peters & May is proud to announce it has won The Business Magazine’s annual Solent 250 – Growth Story of the Year Award.
This award was accepted on Tuesday 18th June, at the Harbour Hotel in Southampton by CEO Simon Judson alongside Director Michael Wood and Group Finance & Commercial Director, Tom Derbyshire.
The Solent 250 is an esteemed annual ranking by The Business Magazine that celebrates the top 250 businesses headquartered in the Solent area. The Growth Story of the Year award specifically recognises companies that have demonstrated outstanding year-on-year growth. Peters & May stood out with an impressive 47% increase on sales in 2022, and a continued upward trajectory in 2023. This award acknowledges the company’s strong market position and its positive impact on the local economy.
“We are very proud to receive the Growth Story of the Year Award,” said Judson. “It goes without saying that this achievement comes from having a strong and dedicated team behind the business. Although a large part of our business is generated internationally, with our headquarters based in the Solent, we are delighted to be bringing that revenue back to the South Coast of the UK.”
Celebrating its 50th anniversary just last year, in 2023, Peters & May has a rich history in global yacht logistics and supporting supply chains through its General forwarding services. The company’s strategic focus on customer service, expert and sustainable practices, and network of agents and partners worldwide has been key to its sustained growth.
Expanding beyond yacht transportation, Peters & May’s Freight Forwarding and Courier Divisions have assisted the Company’s continued growth, doubling headcount in the last two years to support the increased demand for its range of services and transport solutions across various modes including sea, air, road, International Courier. These services are further complimented by a dedicated customs team and documentation expert along with operating two customs bonded warehouses. With future enhancements planned to further improve the customer service experience, Peters & May continues to ensure that it offers an efficient and effective service, providing bespoke shipping solutions that fulfil the scope of each client’s different logistic requirements.
