50th Anniversary: Peters & May celebrates milestone with global team present in Southampton, UK headquarters

Renowned global yacht transportation company, Peters & May, marked its 50th anniversary at its Southampton headquarters this June. Travelling from all corners of the globe, the team of over 100 employees flew in especially for the three-day event to celebrate the major milestone.

Through interactive workshops, team-bonding activities and a grand finale party, the series of events offered the incredible opportunity for the team to connect, collaborate and reflect on the past 50 years. Future aspirations and expectations for the company were also discussed face-to-face, among a team who for many, have worked together for numerous years without ever meeting.

CEO Simon Judson said “It was an honour to see our Peters & May family finally come together in one place, from all over the world – many of us meeting each other for the first time. The connections have been instant, and the sense of camaraderie and team spirit is stronger than ever.

“The last few years have undoubtedly come with their challenges, but it gives me great pleasure to see in this milestone with the Peters & May family, and to report last year as one of our most successful years to date.

“Not only did we see an increase in shipments across all sectors, but we also saw substantial growth for both Freight Forwarding and Commercial.

“With energy and excitement for the future so contagious, I look forward to us taking on the next 50 years, together.”

Among those flying from oversea was Chris Perez, the recently appointed Managing Director for Peters & May USA. He expressed his excitement about being in the UK and meeting everyone in person. “We digitally connect every day, whether it be through email or Teams call, but face to face is how you truly and authentically connect.

“Our team work endlessly to deliver our well-known unrivalled service to our clients, I am keen to do my team just as proud in my new position and connecting with everyone on occasions like this is integral for me to do just that.” Said Perez.

Representatives from exclusive partners, agents, and the Constantine Group, which acquired Peters & May in 2005, were also present to celebrate the milestone.

As Peters & May looks to the future with boundless energy and excitement, CEO Simon Judson expressed his optimism, saying, “With the incredible momentum we have now, I am confident in our ability to embrace the next 50 years together, delivering unrivalled service and achieving even greater success.”

The celebratory event, held at the Grand Harbour Hotel, was a resounding success, leaving attendees inspired and motivated for the remarkable journey ahead.

This unique shipment is just one of the latest complex projects that Peters & May are known to indulge in. Having honed their skills to an industry-leading standard over the last five decades, they tailor every shipment, even the most complex ones, timelessly and faultlessly to the needs of each yacht and every customer. The timely demonstration of such skills comes just as the global company celebrates its 50th anniversary this month.
